Coronavirus cases are rapidly rising in the second wave of Covid in the country. Amid the covid pandemic maintaining good health is of prime importance. To maintain good health and to lower the risk of the virus, it is very important to take care of the immune system. From the beginning of the pandemic till now we have witnessed the importance of good immunity to fight viruses and flu. It is our immune system that keeps us healthy and disease-free. 

Here are some tips to get a stronger and healthier immune system. 

Good sleep is the key to healthy immune system

In the busy lifestyle try to grab some good sleep. Researches have shown that, While you sleep, your immune system releases cytokines, proteins that take on various jobs, including sleep promotion. Sleep deprivation reduces the  production of these disease-busting proteins. Apart from relaxing your body, good sleep helps in improving mental health and reduces the stress.

You can include more pulses, green vegetables and fruits in your daily diet. Avoid junk food and try to follow a healthy diet. Consumption of different types of food items like ginger, garlic, turmeric, cinnamon, papaya etc are considered good for boosting our immune system. 

Avoid drinking and smoking to strengthen immune system

We have read enough caution saying that Drinking and smoking are injurious to health. This saying will benefit us only if we take it seriously and practice it in our daily routine. One best way to improve your immune system is to avoid alcohol and smoking. This habit will not only benefit you in improving immunity but this will help you to improve entire body health. 

Take care of your mental health for healthy immune system

Mental health is as important as physical health. So take special care of your mental health. Stress can be mental or emotional. Pandemic and other problems can increase stress but try to manage your stress, take some time and do practice meditation and yoga.  Try to spend some quality time with your family and friends but do not not violet covid rules. Maintain physical distance, avoid going in crowded places, wear a mask and keep sanitizing. 

Following above mentioned tips in itself is a challenge but it is really important to improve your immunity. Also get vaccinated to fight corona. Do not believe in rumours, vaccines are well tested and effective, so get vaccinated as soon as your turn comes. At last do not forget that some small step can save you from a great loss.
