Given the growing popularity of luxury sedans among the nouveau riche segment, Audi has come out with the face lifted variant of its existing A6 sedan. This is also Audi’s riposte to its rival Mercedes E-Class sedan. Available in diesel (Matrix) and petrol (Premium) engine options, the new variant has been made sleeker with LED headlamps, daytime running lamps, revamped bumpers, LED brake lamp, sharp tail lamps, and edgy character lines. Running on a quartet of elegant looking 17-inch alloy wheels, Audi A6 justifies every bit of its top billing by showcasing a panoramic tinted safety glass roof with tilt function, among others.
Exterior
Thanks to its large wheelbase of 2912mm, Audi A6 is comfortably spacious with striking features dotting its exterior. The revamped headlamp cluster houses LEDs including a string of daylight running lamps bolster not only the looks quotient but also delivers better illumination. The diesel trim called Matrix derives power from a 2.0-litre 1968cc 4-cylinders 16-valves TDI engine delivering maximum power and torque values of 187.7bhp @3800-4200rpm and 400Nm @1750-3000rpm. Although luxury sedans are chosen mainly for their comfort features, looks, safety features and engine power, mileage is not to be dismissed altogether. The diesel trim can ratchet up an average mileage of 15.5kmpl as compared to its petrol trim’s 15.26kmpl.
