Exit Poll Live Update: Sensex and Nifty Soar to Record Highs Amid Poll Optimism

On June 3, 2024, the Sensex surged to a record high of 76,738, while the Nifty climbed to an all-time high of 23,338, driven by positive exit poll results indicating a likely victory for the Modi-led NDA. 

Investor wealth increased by Rs 11.59 lakh crore, with PowerGrid, NTPC, L&T, SBI, and Ultratech Cement leading the gains. 

Broad market participation was seen, with 185 stocks hitting 52-week highs and all sectoral indices in the green. Foreign and domestic institutional investors contributed significantly to the rally.

What EXIT Poll Predicts?

Most exit polls indicate that the BJP-led NDA will likely secure over 350 seats in the Lok Sabha, with some even suggesting they could secure 400 seats. These polls also predict victory for the BJP in Karnataka and expect a strong performance by the TDP and NDA in Andhra Pradesh. 

India Today-Axis My India, Today’s Chanakya, Times Now-ETG, C-Voter, and CSDS-Lokniti are revealing their predictions for today’s 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

According to various exit polls, the NDA is expected to secure between 362 and 385 seats, indicating a more robust mandate than previous elections.

The NDA is predicted to maintain its seat count in the Hindi-speaking region and make significant gains in states like Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Telangana, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.

The 2024 exit polls were released on Saturday, June 1, right after the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 voting concluded. Media outlets started publishing exit polls by 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Exit polls are only allowed after the conclusion of voting in an election. 

The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 took place in seven phases, starting on April 17 and ending on June 1. The elections covered 543 Lok Sabha seats. The Lok Sabha Election results will be announced on June 4.
