Election Result 2024

The BJP had a tough time in its strongholds like Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, facing lower numbers. Their attempts in south and West Bengal didn’t go as planned. However, Odisha was a success story for the BJP, winning power for the first time and securing 19 out of 21 Lok Sabha seats. Congress made significant gains in Uttar Pradesh by reaching out to OBC voters through an alliance with the Samajwadi Party, winning 44 seats and reducing BJP’s count to 35 from 62 in 2019.

The election results indicate that the BJP, though leading in numbers within the NDA, will need to adopt a more collaborative approach due to the crucial contributions of its allies in achieving the majority in the Lok Sabha. A key NDA meeting is set for Wednesday, with major allies TDP and JD(U) confirming their participation. Additionally, the INDIA bloc of parties is convening in New Delhi on the same day. It seems like a pivotal moment for coalition dynamics and future strategies.
