NIRF Rankings 2021: Education Minister releases top institutes list today
List of top institutes in the country is released today by the National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2021. The Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan released the list through a webcast on the official website of NIRF- nirfindia.org. In the list of top institutes, IIT-Madras has managed to retain its number one position in the overall educational institutes and engineering categories and is on the second position in the newly introduced ‘research’ category.
This year NIRF’ Ranking is based on teaching, learning, and resources; research and professional practice, graduation outcome; outreach and inclusivity; and peer perception. Along with the overall rankings, the organisation also releases stream-wise rankings.
The NIRF India Ranking 2021 was announced for eleven categories. This includes Overall, University, Management, College, Pharmacy, Medical, Engineering, Architecture, ARIIA (Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements), Law and Research Institutions. This year NIRF’ Ranking is based on teaching, learning, and resources; research and professional practice, graduation outcome; outreach and inclusivity; and peer perception. Along with the overall rankings, the organisation also releases stream-wise rankings.
The NIRF Rankings have been released under various categories, including, Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Overall, Research and many others. IIT Madras is in first position in the overall category, while IISc Bengaluru has got second place, which is followed by IIT Bombay at the third place. In the University category IISc Bangalore is in first place followed by JNU Delhi and BHU, Varanasi.
