PM to visit UT of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, and Gujarat on 7th – 8th March

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, as well as the state of Gujarat, on March 7th and 8th, 2025.

March 7th: Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli

  • Inauguration of NAMO Hospital (Phase I): At approximately 2 PM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the first phase of the NAMO Hospital in Silvassa. This 450-bed facility, constructed at a cost of over Rs 460 crore, aims to enhance healthcare services in the Union Territory, particularly benefiting tribal communities.
  • Launch and Foundation Laying of Development Projects: Around 2:45 PM, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects totaling over Rs 2,580 crore. These projects encompass village roads, educational institutions, health and wellness centers, administrative buildings, Anganwadi centers, and improvements to water supply and sewage infrastructure. The initiatives are designed to improve connectivity, stimulate industrial growth, boost tourism, create employment opportunities, and enhance public welfare in the region.
  • Rozgar Mela Appointment Letters: The Prime Minister will distribute appointment letters as part of the Rozgar Mela employment initiative.
  • Beneficiary Distributions: He will also distribute benefits to recipients under schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), Gir Adarsh Aajeevika Yojana, and Sylvan Didi scheme. The Gir Adarsh Aajeevika Yojana aims to economically empower women from scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, other backward classes, minorities, and differently-abled individuals by facilitating the establishment of small dairy farms. The Sylvan Didi scheme seeks to support women street vendors by providing them with well-designed carts, co-funded through the PM SVANIDHI scheme.

March 7th: Surat, Gujarat

  • Surat Food Security Saturation Campaign: At around 5 PM in Limbayat, Surat, the Prime Minister will launch the Surat Food Security Saturation Campaign. During this event, benefits under the National Food Security Act will be distributed to over 2.3 lakh beneficiaries.

March 8th: Navsari, Gujarat

  • Lakhpati Didi Programme: On International Women’s Day, at approximately 11:30 AM in Vansi Borsi village, Navsari district, the Prime Minister will participate in the Lakhpati Didi programme. He will interact with women who have achieved financial independence and felicitate five Lakhpati Didis with certificates recognizing their accomplishments.
  • Launch of G-SAFAL and G-MAITRI Schemes: The Prime Minister will introduce two initiatives by the Government of Gujarat:
    • G-SAFAL (Gujarat Scheme for Antyodaya Families for Augmenting Livelihoods): This scheme provides financial assistance and entrepreneurial training to self-help group (SHG) women from Antyodaya families in two aspirational districts and thirteen aspirational blocks of Gujarat.
    • G-MAITRI (Gujarat Mentorship and Acceleration of Individuals for Transforming Rural Income): This initiative offers financial assistance and support to startups focused on creating a conducive environment for enhancing rural livelihoods.

These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare, infrastructure, food security, and women’s empowerment in the region.
